Catfishing my catfish
In November 2021 I was sent a dodgy message on LinkedIn from a man looking for love. A few days later the same message arrived in my email inbox from the same man. It was clearly a scam and I’m all about this sort of nonsense, so I replied and have since pretended to fall in love (because if he’s not scamming me, he’ll be scamming an innocent old lady, right?).
Please enjoy the emails back and forth between us and watch as our love blossoms. I hope you get many lols and learn a little about cyber-safety and how technology means you can find out pretty much anything about anyone.

- I’ve colour-coded his letters to identify Paulie narrative, his direct replies to my nonsense, my questions that he’s straight up ignored, and content I’ve found elsewhere online (which feels like Oh God such betrayal).
- “Paulie” is the man in the narrative, “Pablo” is the man in the pictures, and “Scammy McScamface” is the person (or people) behind the scam.
- The PISS-TAKERs are the detectives (my friends and family) trying to crack the case. We are always recruiting.
